We flew from Denver to Toronto on a little plane trough a lot of snow but the de-icer was wearing a hawaiin blouse and shorts. We spent two nights in Toronto as our coach Frank and physio Stefan flew in from Amsterdam. We did some touristic sight seeing by the CN tower and we drove around in our Stow and Go minivan. Blue Mtn is a new destination on the tour. I had no iedea what to expect other than it was an Eastcoast style mountain. That means it can be freezing and the mountain looks more like a hill. Blue Mtn is actually really beautiful it’s right near one of the great lakes, it’s the size of Great Brittain. The mountain was indeed a hill and we could even drive up to the top of the hill and park the car at the near  the course. The first day it was pretty warm when we trained it this course full of features and high jumps. It was all man made snow so the snow looked like indoor snow.. sugar and ice. All the volunteers did their best on side slipping the cours. The next day it was flat light, wind from the north so windy and a windchil of minus 20 and a icy hard course. I had trouble adjusting to the conditions but I qualified 19th for the finals the next day. The next day luckely wasn’t so cold and the sun came back. Racing with 6 people is a big challenge and there’s a lot more chance that people crash. I didn’t have the best start but got out of the way of a big crash and stayed on my feet as my board touched an other board. I made it to the next round. In semi’s I lost it at the start of the race and ended up racing in the small finals. I had a stupid crash on the rollers and took 11th. I’m happy as this is my best result this season..

Now I’m off to Revelstoke.. Keep you updated!

We’re training in Hintertux AUT and had the Dutch national broadcasting come and film us for a day. It’s going to be on NOS Studio Sport this Sunday (27/11/2011).
