We arrived in Cesis a little town about 2 hours drive from the capital Riga. When we got there it was a culture shock. A small town, everything is grey and looked old. A lot of buildings have the windows and doors blocked, it feels a bit scary walking arround.

No worries the next day we could do some training… so we thought. The little hill opens on weekdays at 15.00 or not at all. Cesis by day is a bit friendlier, it has an medieval castle and a lot of little shops.

It was finally time to snowboard… The little hill is probably as big as the indoor hall in Landgraaf but a bit wider. The cross looked good for the snowconditions.

We had two competitions. The first comp we rode the first and second quali time Kadri the estonian girl who we know from the world cup took third. After that we knew that it would be us three competing for the podium. The other girls were good, we were better.

Finals: Kadri took the lead, Bell fell, overshooting a step-up jump and Britt ended up chasing. Result: A second and forth place.

When we got the results Britt saw that she only had 48 fis points (you need an averidge of 50 to start world cup), so the pressure was on for the next day. The maximum points you could win in this race was 70 and second 56, so with a win a world cup start was garanteed.

Next day Next race and time to win some points.

First heat Bell and Kadri and Britt was in the second heat. Bell raced tactical to spot where we could take the win. Bell informed me what to do… Finals: Kadri took the lead, Bell made sure I could pass and blocked the other girl, I did what Bell told me and overtook her in the last part.

Result: Britt got her points so a victory (and a little party) for Berghuis sistas

The next day we did some start training and Toms (awsome guy from latvia) would go with us to Riga and show us arround. Toms and his girlfriend let us stay in their home. We went to the latvian olympic trainingcenter, made sushi and had a lot of fun!!

Thanx Toms and Laura for the great time.
